Ray Lamontagne // Los Angeles poster concepts

Here are a handful of ideas for the LA poster:

This direction is inspired by the trees and hills that the venue is tucked into. I think this concept would be really cool if we did a sort of collage style where each tree is a different color, texture, found photo, etc... From a distance it would just look like a pretty standard forest scene but as the viewer got closer they would see all these little different detailed elements making up the trees.

Another nature-inspired take. A nice serene little deer sleeping among flowers and insects and other critters. This could be really cool in a vintage childrens book kind of illustration style with some splotchy lines and dry brush strokes.

Since the venue is right next to Griffith Observatory I wanted to do something inspired by the zodiac mural they have painted in the rotunda. Two flying horsemen (pollux & castor from ancient mythology) since it is 'gemini season' when the show happens. I think a full on 60s/70s psychedelic laurel canyon treatment could be really cool here!
