governor's ball poster concepts

Here are a few rough concept sketches for the Governors Ball poster. I want to try to make something that has that dense, exciting energetic feel that a festival provides - Lots of different bright colors, patterns, textures all coming together to create a single experience. Ignore the sloppiness of these, just trying to communicate the overall layout and idea.

The city skyline melting into a trippy drippy menagerie of colors and patterns. The lineup is contained at the bottom, worked into the overall pattern. This could look awesome in a more clean vector style to really give it an op art feel. Something along the lines of this or this but more graphic and less representational.

A dense, natural representation of the island with concertgoers, animals, instruments, speakers, and other fun summery type things woven in and out of the foliage. I think this direction would look great executed in looser hand drawn illustration style similar to the work we did here  and here .

The stage with the RFK bridge and skyline in the background. For this direction we could use this torn-paper collage style I have been doing a lot lately. Each individual piece could have a different pattern, illustration, photo, texture etc to create a really intense visual effect. Maybe the skyline and bridge and other elements could look like cut paper too?
