MIKE GORDON // ALBANY NY UPDATE

Here are a few updated options for the Albany art. I replaced the simple crescent moon with a more cosmic-style planet, adds a nice little touch I think. As far as the type being on the top vs the bottom, I originally had it placed up top because I thought it gave the poster more of that classic WPA feel, and also it really aided in moving the viewers eye around the entire image, but I think it works well either way, up to you really!

Here is the final art for the Albany poster - had a blast (no pun intended) working in this style.

MIKE GORDON // ALBANY NY POSTER CONCEPTS

Here are a few different rough ideas for the poster, all based on the unique venue!

Exploring the egg shape as a graphic element - kind of a cool psychedelic take on it with these abstract shapes and forms emanating from the center. I think this one could be cool with a nice funky color scheme, maybe employ some collaged images and textures into the different 'layers'.

I was thinking about eggs and where they came from, and thought it would be funny to have a giant chicken placed in the albany skyline with the egg. Could be fun to give it a sort of 'attack of the giant chicken' vibe.

Style-wise for this I think something inspired by vintage space-age comics could be really cool - kind of a more simplified take on something inspired by this . Bold lines and some nice chunky lichtenstein-style halftones.  I'm feeling a cool spacey color scheme - dark grey, light blue, yellow, light green... Maybe go that extra step and throw some glow in the dark in there : )
