eau claire story museum final logo

Here is the final logo in a few variations and a couple of color schemes. I thought that using a cool, light scheme using dark blue as a base paired with either a lighter blue or green gave it a friendly, open feeling and makes it seem official and municipal in some capacity. I'm including versions with and without type, multicolor and one color versions, and you can click the arrows to see it on a darker or lighter background color.

EAU CLAIRE story MUSEUM LOGO CONCEPTS

Here are a few rough pencil sketches for the ECSM logo. When I was coming up with ideas for this after reading the materials you guys sent over, the core concepts of the project that jumped out at me were history, place, conversation, and communication. I was thinking about a way to represent  the history of the neighborhood and the imagery that I associate with it. I kept coming back to the old city hall building - it stands as a beacon on that corner, when you see that clock tower you know you're in Eau Claire. In addition to the landmark status it is also right down the street from the Museum location.  I thought it could be good to combine the tower with some other detail implying conversation, communication, and storytelling.

A classic circle lock up - the Eau Claire tower stands tall on a nice spring day -  but instead of a clockface it has a speech bubble representing storytelling, conversation, etc...

Combining the tower with a microphone - the radiating lines suggest illumination and the concept of broadcasting these stories out into the world. I think this could be a really nice refined icon paired with some classy typography.

Another potentially more playful variation of the above concept - this could look good rendered in a bold monoline style.

Another example of the speech bubble idea - this time with radiating circles being broadcast from the tower.
