BEIRUT TOUR POSTER CONCEPTS

Here are a few rough ideas inspired by the album art + artist statement you sent over:

A collage-style approach, layering different visual elements from the album art with images and patterns inspired by the locales where it was created. The band’s sound is so eclectic I think this could be a cool reflection of that. This Modest Mouse poster we made last year took a similar approach.

A lone building in a dense mediterranean-inspired jungle. I’d like to take a maximalism approach here with tons of different shapes and details for the eye to get lost in. It could be cool to incorporate a peacock or tiger (i think that’s a tiger) hidden in the scene as a nod to the album art.

A more stripped down/minimal approach layering different visual elements related to the album art. This could have a really sophisticated and sparse vibe when finished.

A scene inspired by the architecture of Gallipoli, layered buildings and architectural elements make a really cool graphic representation of a place that inspired the record. We could work the tour dates into the different parts of the scene (windows, doors etc) so the dates would really be integrated into the illustration rather than just being a list. This direction has tons of room for fun details like little scenes in the windows, plants, architectural details, etc…
